IT/OT Learning Done Our Way
Some ITOT.Academy updates and interviews we'd like to share with you
It’s summer here in Belgium and while last year we gave ourselves permission to slow down, this year we’re doing the opposite. We’ve got momentum, a growing community, and something we're genuinely excited to keep building with all of you. So, in this article we are sharing what you can expect from us in the coming months plus an important heads-up about the ITOT.Academy.
First up: our Academy 🙂
The response has been amazing. Our first seats are sold, and we expect the early bird offer to close by the end of this week. If you’re thinking of joining, now’s a good time.
Quick reminder: the ITOT.Academy is a live, online experience led by David and Willem. Each cohort joins for six interactive sessions, each around two hours, designed to fit real work schedules. We kick off:
August 29 at 13:00 CET / 16:30 IST
September 5 at 2PM EST / 11AM PDT / 20:00 CET
We also want to share something else. David was recently featured in two great interviews: one on The Connected Factory Podcast with United Manufacturing Hub, and one on The IoT Show with Olivier Bloch. Both were fun, honest conversations about where IT/OT is heading and why we created the Academy in the first place.
Keep reading for some of our favorite quotes, and what they reveal about the skills and mindset we believe every team will need going forward.
Why the Academy exists
“I don’t think there is too much education in this space.” - David
That off-the-cuff remark in David’s recent Connected Factory interview sums up the gap we keep bumping into: plenty of buzzword webinars, almost no structured path that respects both OT constraints and IT speed. Or how David puts it:
“That’s why we created the ITOT.Academy: to turn the blog’s ideas into a focused, interactive learning track where participants can learn more from us, but also from each other.”
Watch the full interview here:
And to summarize the interview with another quote:
“Education isn’t a vendor white-paper behind an email gate. It’s an honest meeting point for people moving in the same direction.”
That’s the vibe we’re going for inside every cohort.
What we have planned in the coming months
We have a couple of really interesting podcasts coming up;
We’ll publish version 2 of our Industrial Data Platform Capability Map;
We are preparing a new series of articles and interviews around Industrial AI to give you the guidance you need to cut through all the noise (same as we did in our DataOps series);
… and we are obviously working super hard on the content for our Academy 😅
The Clash of the Clans
During the last weeks, we got quite some extra coverage on our launch. Thank you to our Substack friends at Exponential Industry and Breaking The Bottleneck for the mention. And also a shout-out to IIoT World :)
Or tune in below to see me talk about the clash of the clans with Olivier Bloch on this IoT Show!
